Vishnu on Garuda

This early 20th century South Indian Temple Art depicts the Hindu God Vishnu, who is one of the three most important Hindu Deities. He is seated on his carrier Garuda, a mythical bird who is half-man and half-bird and said to possess immense strength, being the carrier of Lord Vishnu himself. The hand-carved piece is made out of a single piece wood.
