Durga, the Mother Goddess in Hinduism is the consort of Lord Siva, and the central figure of the ‘Shakta’ cult of Hinduism. She is the mother of the whole world, and has been depicted to kill millions of demons to sustain the universe. This only piece in the world is a depiction of the Hindu Goddess, is hand-carved in wood and is a fine example of Tamil Nadu Temple architecture (South India).
